- 2 ½ cups of flour
- ½ cup of molasses
- 1/3 cup of brown sugar, packed
- 8 tbsp of butter, softened
- 1 egg
- 1 ½ tsp. of cinnamon
- 1 ½ tsp. of ginger
- ½ tsp. of cloves
- ½ tsp. of cardamom
- ½ tsp. of salt
- ¼ tsp. of baking soda
Cream together the sugar, butter, cinnamon, cloves, cardamom, salt and baking soda in mixing bowl. Beat in the egg, flour ginger and molasses. Chill the dough for several hours or overnight.
Once dough has chilled roll it to about ¼ inch thickness. Cut with cookie cutters and bake at 350°F/180°C for 10-12 minutes.
